Question : I have a Toshiba Satellite A105 Laptop, and Hard Drive From Dell Vostro 1500 w/ Win 7 wont boot?
I bought a toshiba satellite a105 from someone for very cheap. The laptop didn't have a hard drive in it but seemed to be in ok shape so I figured i might make some money off of it. I had a 120 gig hard drive that I pulled out of a vostro 1500 that was running windows 7 and I put that in there. It acts like its going to boot up but then flashes the blue screen and restarts right after the windows animated icon starts to animate. Is this normal when trying to boot a hard drive from a different computer? I know some bios versions aren't compatible with 7, could this be it? Another problem I'm having is that the cd tray appears to be jammed and I don't think its reading the disk. I tried to just reformat using windows xp install disk but when i eject the cd tray it only comes halfway out and i kind of have to force it the rest of the way out and then when i put the cd in it acts like its trying to read but will not boot from the cd. Any ideas?

Check the output of df to see which filesystem is full. It's very likely the /var file system.
You just need to delete unnecessary files or increase the file system size.
