Question : outlook 2007 crashing upon start

Outlook 2007 crashes upon startup everytime i open the program.  this occurs across all user logins/profiles on the computer.  i have uninstalled and reinstalled the software.  i cannot remove the existing profiles from the mail applet in control panel.  when i attempt to do so it crashes with an unknown error 0xc0000409.  i have tried under a user account with no profiles in outlook and it crashes upon startup also.  i have tried different service packs, updates, etc with no luck.  Outlook will not start in safe mode.  repairing the installation doesn't help.  any ideas?

Found this in another thread.  it resolved the problem.  this is associated with outlook crashing specifically after a windows update.  it leave an entry in the event viewer every time outlook crashes.

If the message in event log is talking about loadperf.dll, then delete the following key to resolve.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Outlook

Seems to have happened after an update.
