Question : vcenter Agents for ESX server

I have a question, does the vcenter agent for ESX work? Is it 1 agent per processor or is it 1 agent per host?

Also is it possible for the esx liences to be install on the host itself outside of Virtual center but then managed by the virtual center using the agent?

The reason why I asked that is because I have ESX standard with a capcity of 6 I have assigned 4. However on the agents I see assigned of 6 with capcity of 6 which makes no sense

Licenses are based off per physical sockets, not cores. So, with hosts you have, how many physical socket CPUs do you have?
