Question : COMPAQ V6000 HP, WON'T BOOT WITH BATTERY INSERTED, DC BLUE LIGHT PULSES DIM

I'm A+, MCSA and run a small pc shop. Familiar with most HP issues including the recalls. Heres what I got:

  1. V6000
  2. BOOTS WITH AC ADAPTER POWER
  3. DC LIGHT STAYS SOLID WHEN AC PLUGGED IN
  4. DC LIGHT DIMS AND BRIGHTENS WHEN ANY BATTERY PLUGGED IN (TRIED 3 DIFFERENT ONES)

  5. CHARGE LIGHT BLINKS TWICE WHEN POWER BUTTON IS PUSHED, SYSTEM DOES NOT BOOT, NO VIDEO LIGHTS ETC.

  6. TAKE BATTERY OUT, START SYSTEM, SYSTEM BOOTS, PLUG IN BATTERY, AFTER A FEW MOMENTS SYSTEMS HARD POWER DOWNS.

  7. WHILE SYSTEM RUNNING WITHOUT BATTERY IN, I MOVE THE CORD IN MULTIPLE DIRECTIONS, SYSTEM DOES NOT SHUT DOWN DUE TO POWER LOSS, ELMINIATING A LOOSE DC JACK....

 8. TAKE BATTERY OUT, TAKE OUT AC ADAPTER, HOLD POWER BUTTON FOR 20 SECONDS, SAME ISSUE

 9. WRITE ON HERE FOR ASSISTANCE

Answer : COMPAQ V6000 HP, WON'T BOOT WITH BATTERY INSERTED, DC BLUE LIGHT PULSES DIM

Which, again, means that the motherboard is shorting out between itself and the battery. This is a power issue most likely fixed by replacing the system board.
