Question : Best way to configure Syncback with a USB hard drive rotation

Hi All,

We are looking to use Syncback pro for a data rotation on one of our servers (Win 2k8 Std).  It seems to fit all of our needs at an affordable price (this is a charity).  Quick question, what method is best for using Syncback for a USB drive rotation?  It seems Syncback has the ability to detect the destination either by drive letter or by drive serial number.  Is it better to setup both backups to the same drive letter so either drive can be plugged in . . . or setup multiple backup jobs each day (to each drive letter) and just let one fail and one succeed at all times (depending which USB drive is plugged in for the rotation).  Or does anyone have a third suggestion?

Thanks!

Not all USB flash drives have unique serial numbers.  I know for a fact that SANDisk (and compatible) "U3" family flash devices present a unique serial number to the O/S.   In general, the cheap USB devices all have the same serial number, so they will not work for you.
