Question : changing external server name.. do I need to change anything in Outlook
Hello,
Our company name is changing and we're changing the external name of our mail server.
I'm going to be changing the External host name in: EMC, server config, CA, Outlook Anywhere tab. Do I have to make this same change to my Outlook clients under 'Exchange Proxy Settings'?
From reading related posts, it looks like Outlook will get these settings from the Autodiscover service so I won't have to but i just wanted to verify.
Also, it looks like I don't have to change anything in IIS. We're using the default website. can someone please confirm that to be true?
Thanks,
Paul

It depends on if you are changing the DNS. If you are no longer maintaining the DNS for olddomain.com, then yes, you will need to change your email clients to match the DNS pointing to your server.
