Question : Can I delete .OST files without losing email messages?
I have several multi-user machines running Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2003. The OST files are eating the disk space. I beleive that the OST files are there because Outlook was originally set up to use Cached Exchange Mode? Is that correct? We have removed Cached Exchange Mode and we need to delete the OST files so that we can recover disk space. If we delete the OST files will users lose email messages or is it safe to delete??? Also some users report that when logging into one workstation an email that they deleted on another workstation still appears, that the mailboxes dont match. Is this an OST file issue as well?

If you don't use Cached Exchange mode, then no .OST file will be created at all.
