Question : SUSE Linux - Detect new disk (hardware)

I am running SuSe Linux 10.0 64-bit in a VMware virtual machine. I have added a disk through VMware but cannot see the disk in SuSe. Is there a way I can get YAST or some other command to rescan disks so I can add the new disk online without having to take down or reboot the system? Thanks!
