Question : RealPlayer 11 keeps asking to add Downloader Agent

hi experts

i have been annoyed by two RealPlayer messages for a while, and really want to get rid of them at all.

every time i start RealPlayer 11.0.0. (884) on my iMAC running Leopard 10.5.8, it first pops up a window asking me to "Add RealPlayer Downloader Agent to Login items" with three options ("Don't Add Agent", "Ask Me Later", and "Add Agent"), i choose option 1 or 2 as i am not interested in it and don't want my browsers get affected.

after that, a credential window appears asking me for administrator's name and password to allow RealPlayer to make changes?! i certainly choose "Cancel" to deny the request. then the normal RealPlayer window appears, and i can do other operations i need.

every time i use the program, i have to do two more operations to deny the two stupid requests. i can't bear it any more. i have checked the Preferences to see if any possibly related settings can avoid the popups, but with no luck. is there anyone who has the same experience??

BTW, i don't want to upgrade RealPlayer for performance and compatibility concerns. the current version just works on my computer, of course, except the above stupid behaviour like a rogue.

any comments are appreciated.

kind regards,
bbao

Answer : RealPlayer 11 keeps asking to add Downloader Agent

bbao,

Because you have been cancelling the Administrator permissions messages, your choices are not being saved so Realplayer prompts you each time.

Tell it you don't want the Downloader Agent; but, then use the Admin credentials box so it can save the change.
