Question : Outlook2007/ Exchange: Need password to connect

Hi Experts

The following occurs for Outlook 2007 users who are accessing the Exchange Server on Windows SBS 2008.

When Outlook Starts up, a "Connect to server.mydomain.local" requesting a password.  We have tried using the user's domain username /password but this info is constatnly rejected.  The only option therefore is to click  CANCEL

THen In the Bottom Right hand corner in Outlook window, "Need Password" is displayed
I click on "Need Password" and choose option "Type Exchange Password and Connect"
No dailogue box appears that would enable you to enter a password but Oultook Connects to Exchange server and behaves normally.  Because the process recurrs intermittently (5-10minutes), we must constantly repeat the connection process.

All suggestions welcome.

Answer : Outlook2007/ Exchange: Need password to connect

There are a couple of issues that could cause this.  First ensure you have at least Exchange 2007 SP2 installed, there was also a security update in November that caused another issue.
