Question : Slow copy from VMware Esxi 3.5i onto Ext USB Drive

Hi,
I am trying to copy my VM's on to an external hard drive so I can upgrade the VM OS.
The VM's are taking ages to copy over, I have the usb drive plugged into another server next to it, is there a way of speeding them up?

Please update whether you have connected Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet Card to the ESXi Hosts' Management Network.
