Question : IPAD Question

I am thinking about getting an IPAD so I can use a web based application at my employer. I will have to use a VPN to connect to application. I also have a blackberry through Verizon with unlimted data plan. I use the blackberry to tether my laptop so I can access the application via the VPN.

My question is, can I tether the blackberry to my IPAD & get to the Internet that way? I can't get the IPAD with the 3g connection due to security reasons at work . If I connect to the app at work, I will have to go through my blackberry & then to the VPN. Thanks

Answer : IPAD Question

Tethering is not supported on the iPad without jailbreaking as jhyiesia mentioned. The iPad does support VPN via 3G although it has only been tested with the OSX Server's VPN. It may be worth a try.

You're best bet seem to be to use one of the newer Verizon smartphones that support mobile hotspots via an app such as the Palm Pre Plus which can act as a mobile WiFi hotspot for up to 5 different devices.

If Blackberry is your only option, they still don't have a WiFi app like the one on Palm's Pre but that may change.

Good luck.
