Question : SQL Server 2008 setup failure

Hi,

I'm trying to install SQL 2008 standard on a windows 2003 server but the setup won't even begin. It flashes up then disappears and leaves the following error in the event log:

I've tried copying the contents from the cd and running it that way to no avail and I'm using a domain admins account to attempt the install.

I can't seem to find a solution anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas?

Answer : SQL Server 2008 setup failure

Does the host have Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 or a later version? This is required prior to installation of SQl 2008.
