Question : Computer playing random ads without any open windows

My computer is playing random music and ads while I am surfing.  There are no extra windows open and I can go to the task manager and kill the iexplore.exe with the lowest amount of memory usage and it goes away.  It comes back in about 10-15 minutes.  How can I stop this.
