Hi,
I've recently configured email alerts in the vCenter and I get emails like this:
Windows: 5/16
ID: AA80-001  Impact: Critical  Release date: 2007-06-27  Products: ADOBE ACROBAT 8.0.0 PROFESSIONAL, ADOBE ACROBAT 8.0.0 STANDARD, ADOBE ACROBAT 8.1.0 PROFESSIONAL, ADOBE ACROBAT 8.1.0 STANDARD Adobe Acrobat 8.1 update
ID: AI08-001  Impact: Critical  Release date: 2008-01-16  Products: APPLE ITUNES 4, APPLE ITUNES 5, APPLE ITUNES 6, APPLE ITUNES 7.0, APPLE ITUNES 7.1, APPLE ITUNES 7.2, APPLE ITUNES 7.3, APPLE ITUNES 7.4.1, APPLE ITUNES 7.4.2, APPLE ITUNES 7.4.3, APPLE ITUNES 7.5, APPLE ITUNES 7.6 Apple iTunes 7.6
and so on.
My questions are: What are these outdated updates? Do they get installed and where? Is there anything else I should know about these updates?

Thanks everyone,
BW

Answer : Question about patch definitions in vCenter update manager

I am certain that the updates won't get installed unless and until you have scheduled them to install on Virtual Machines. I guess it is downloading the metadata files and reporting about the availability of updates.

Please post the screen-shot of VMware Update Manager (in PNG Format) if feasible.
