Question : Windows 2003 Terminal License server problem
This morning I got a call from on my users saying that when he logged into the Citrix server he got a message, that there were no terminal services licenses available...I checked my License server and found that I had at least 30 licenses available. I then checked the logs on the Citrix server and saw the following:
"The terminal server client CitrixServer has been disconnected because its license could not be renewed. The license server LicenseServer was contacted to get Windows Server 2003 - Terminal Server Per Device CAL Token. license for this client."
So then I checked the logs on the license server (which is also a domain controller):
EventID 42
"Error occurred in policy module, Policy Module for company Microsoft Corporation product A02 has denied new license request with error code 87."
then
EventID 21
"The Terminal Server Licensing server "LicenseServer" has no permanent licenses for product 'A02'. Use Terminal Server Licensing administrative tool to register more licenses. The Terminal Server 'CitrixServer' was refused licenses of type 'A02' due to this condition."
I have not added any additional Licenses and all my licenses are "Per Device"...Everything has been working fine for about 5 years...
I've been researching this all morning, but really haven't come up with anything...
Any help would be appreciated!!!!
Answer : Windows 2003 Terminal License server problem
I have an issue once where I lost all communications to my TS license server in my Citrix farm. My fix was to remove the TS license server service and reinstall it. Once I did this communications was restored
