Question : Exhange 2003 mailbox permissions
Hi Experts,
I have an infuriating problem with Exchange permissions.
My customer wants two distinct permission groups for mailbox access.
Mailbox managers - are to be able to see all user's mailboxs
Mailbox users - are to be able to see all user mailboxs except for the managers.
I setup two groups and added the correct users.
I then went into ESM 2003 and right clicked on mailbox store adding 'Mailbox Managers' group with full permissions.
I then went through each user account within AD and added the Mailbox Users group to each of the mailbox security settings with full perms accept for the users in mailbox managers group.
The permissions do not apply. However, if I add individual users to a mailbox and add full permissions they can access without problems.
This is driving me nuts as I can not see for the life of me why permissions will apply when using individual users and not groups. They permissions should apply....does anyone know why this isn't working?
Yours with great frustration and less heair than when I started,
J
Answer : Exhange 2003 mailbox permissions
Your not the only one who ran into this issue, I could not get it to work either, I played it off as a glitch in windows and instead loaded up exchange 2007. I didn't have a problem then so i figured it was an issue with 2003.
