Question : REPEATED infections with Conficker.C worm: Windows 7 Pro
I have a new Windows 7 Pro installation on which MSE REPEATEDLY reports a Conficker.C worm infection. MSE is able to remove the worm quickly each time but it repeatedly returns. There is no pattern to the infestation: it is not triggered by the launch of a program or browser, and it may be days or minutes between re-infections. The machine is connected to a business network with a domain, but none of the other computers (XP/Vista) report infection.
Super Antispyware, run in both normal and safe modes also detects the virus and "removes' it but it continues to return.
Answer : REPEATED infections with Conficker.C worm: Windows 7 Pro
You need to turn off your system restore as it keeps on restoring the infection: Right Click on My Computer > System Protection link on left hand side > Configure > Turn off system protection.
