Question : Is my Power Supply Unit sufficient

I have just purchased a
Asus P7P55D, S1156, P55, 4xDDR3, 2xPCIe, ATX  motherboard, which will carry a
 i5 750 2.66GHz, 8MB, S1156 processor
and a
Asus EAH5770/2DI/512MD5 512MB graphics card

On a website I have calculated the power needs of this combination and the conclusion was that a PSU of 350 watt would be enough.
Now I read on the package that the mobo requires 600 w and the graphics card 500 w.
I have now bought a Cooler master (which I can still return though) of 600 w (m620). One would think that would suffice largely, but the graphic card also requires 'a 12 v current rating of 40A'.
The salesmen didnt believe his ears.
Th Coolermaster maxes to 19 A, but has different rails. I am not familiar with the 'rail'system and i just do not know how to proceed now. So your advice is welcome.

What the sales box was saying was that the video card must be installed in a computer with a minimum power supply for the system of 500 watts. This makes total sense as that is least I would put in a gamng or graphics workstation. Now, based on the ATI Radeon™ HD 5770 GPU Feature Summary  
The second part of a 12 volt currect rating of 40 amps is totally wrong. Per the ATI Radeon™ HD 5770 GPU Feature Summary  located on the AMD website, the card has a Maximum board power: 108 Watts
and a Idle board power: 18 Watts. The 108 watts devided by 12.0 VDC gives 9 amps total. The 108 watts devided by 5.0 VDC gives 21.6 amps total. So this proves that the printing on the box was in error. I used the ATI Radeon™ HD 5770 GPU for the current as I could not locate the card number that you listed; "Asus EAH5770/2DI/512MD5" anywhere on the ASUS homepage. I did use the area selection of the USA for my search, if that is incorrect please advise.

The confiruration on the mobo undertest is here:http://techreport.com/articles.x/17598/4, It is very heavy load for the machines with a matching power supply.

Now if we take the 235 watts from the mobo add this to the 108 watts found on the ATI site and you have a processing load of 343 watts. Add on 150% for HD's, optical hardware and auxillary cards and you get 514 watts. Now add on 120% surges and unexpected loadings and you get 617.4 watts. This is very close to your Cooler master and I would not hesitate to use it.

My advice is similar to dmbgo, I would install everything and power it up. The only power supplies that I know of that produce 40 amps at 12 volts are not computer oriented.
