Question : connecting to a windows 2003 file share from a mac, folders are empty
I am having an issue connecting to some file shares located on a server 2003 box in my office. I have a new mac that is trying to connect to the file shares on the server. I can connect to the server and see the available shares and then the folder structure directly under one of those shares. However as soon as I go into one of the folders, there are no files that are shown.
I can log into the server and authentication does not seem to be an issue. I am logging onto the server using SMB. Also there is another user in the office with a mac that has the same issue. However they use vmware fusion and access the server through a windows vm. I do not administer the server so I am not sure what the settings are.
Any idea why I cannot see these files? Could it be the authentication type?

This is bit simplistic. I actually wanted you to write everything that you see in Security tab > Advanced. You may replace actual domain and user names with fake ones, though.
