Question : SQL 2005 mirroring

I have setup SQL 2005 SP3 on two servers with a witness and successfully configured it for mirroring.
What I cannot see is if I had not configured a witness and I were to loose my primary SQL, how would I "promote" my mirror to be the primary SQL server ?
