Question : No IP address via Wired Connection but getting IP address via Wireless on Windows 7 connecting to new SBS 2008

Weird issue with 15 new HP Windows 7 Pro computers connecting to a newly migrated SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 server.

HP PC is picking up an IP Address via Wireless NIC from SBS 08 server, bt plug in a LAN cable and it fails to pickup and IP Address.

My own laptop which is Windows 7 also cannot pick up an IP via wired but happy via Wireless. It works everywhere else I have tried.

Router is not configured as DHCP server - it is all handled on the SBS 08 box.

Existing XP Pro / XP Home PCs pick up an IP address via wired without even blinking.

What the heck is going on?

Answer : No IP address via Wired Connection but getting IP address via Wireless on Windows 7 connecting to new SBS 2008

I have disabled the Windows Firewall on the SBS box and communications seems to be flowing nicely now.

Will monitor and keep everyone posted.
