Question : Hyper-V network configuration

I am getting ready to deploy Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 R2. The server will have 6 NICs.

Two of the NICs are on the motherboard, there is an additional four port NIC. I am looking to maximise throughput and redundancy.

I plan on teaming all the NICs, so I will be left with 1 onboard team and 2 other teams.

Is there any way in which I can configure this in such a way that if I lose either of the physical network cards that I wont lose connectivity?

It will be deployed on a flat network.

Answer : Hyper-V network configuration

you will need to check to see if teaming NICs is supported on HYPER-V - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968703

if  you have a single additional 4 port NIC then if that card fails then you will lose network connectivity.  if teaming is possible, try teaming one of the onboard NIC's with three on the add-on NIC for your VM's and the other onboard NIC with the fourth NIC from the add-on NIC for management.
