Question : receiving a few hundred Spam messages

Hi all

I am receiving a few hundred of these every day to a number of accounts on our domain

From: [email protected]m [mailto:postmaster@rogerblanton.com]
Sent: 07 July 2010 06:46
To: [email protected]
Subject: Delivery Status Notification (Failure)

Note: Forwarded message is attached.

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

      [email protected]

Final-Recipient: rfc960;davy88@rogerblanton.com
Action: failed
Status: 6.9.7

This message also comes with a HTML attachment at 3KB in size
When I try to open the attachment Eset smart security reports it as a Trojan

I have scanned all workstations  on my network for infections with Eset nod antivirus V4, Malware Bytes and F-secure online scanner

All workstations seem to be clean

I have scanned the server with Eset Nod For exchange and malware bytes
These scans seem to find a few minor infections within the recycling bin

I am aware that this could be someone spamming to my address or it could be someone spamming from our address

At this stage I need to get this stopped

Any suggestions on how to get this stopped would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Robbie

Answer : receiving a few hundred Spam messages

That is NDR spam - pure and simple.

A good Anti-Spam program will be able to eliminate these for you.

Have you got anything installed on your server?

If not, please download a trial of Vamsoft ORF - www.vamsoft.com - Excellent anti-sapm software and should deal with this issue for you.

If you decide to keep it, it will only cost you $239 as a one-off cost.

If you need help configuring it, please ask.  I use it on all my customer sites and it is brilliant.
