Question : Mac/Unix/Linux compatibility with Windows 2008 R2 domain authentication

Hi,
We are about to upgrade our existing Windows 2003 domain to Windows server 2008 R2. We are also raising the security in the domain. My question is how this will affect users with Macintosh/Unix/Linux systems logging on to the domain. I have no clear view of Mac/Unix/Linux versions used (Mac/Linux isn't really supported in our domain). Is there a compatibility list of Mac/Unix/Linux versions and support of, for example, LAN Manager authentication level?

The following security changes will be made:
1. Network security: LAN Manager authentication level
Send NTLM response only: Clients use NTLM authentication only and use NTLMv2 session security if the server supports it; domain controllers accept LM, NTLM, and NTLMv2 authentication.
2. Network security: Do not store LAN Manager hash value on next password change
3. "Everyone" will be removed from the group "Pre-Windows 2000 Compatible Access"

If your Macs are bound to your AD domain, then they will use Kerberos for authentication and (with all else being correct) will work ok.

Otherwise, you're going to have problems unless you lower those security settings.
