Question : Would an exchange server update take down the server?

hey there experts, I feel like I am being fed a line of crap by our IT guys.  I am not an IT professional, but indeed could be considered a power user+.   I am however a manager at a company and have direct reports in several states.  When we have IT issues, it is a really big deal since my staff rely on our network to collaborate.

Within the last 6 months, my company has gone to a "managed solution" for IT support which in effect means we are outsourcing all of it.  Unfortunately, it has been a nightmare every since.   I concede our network infrastructure was mickey mouse at best before they came into the picture, but ya know what, it worked and I didnt have to get on the phone at 10 PM in the eve and yell at our new IT group!

At any rate, enough of the venting...

Today, our "new" email server went down.  Big time.   It was recently deployed and the excuse I am getting is "microsoft pushed out a critical update today which is causing all the issues".

I am not an exchange server expert, nor will I claim to know much about it, but I would think if Microsoft pushed something out that took down properly configured exchange servers, it would be all over CNN.  It is exchange 2007 and was deployed within the last 2 weeks.

Am I being fed a line of crap, or is there possibly some truth to this.  Honestly, I just dont think they fully know what they are doing or it is "IT by trial and error".

Answer : Would an exchange server update take down the server?

you can set visibility through style

document.getElementById('idofelement').style.display("none"); //hide element
document.getElementById('idofelement').style.display(""); //display element

css display will make the element invisible and also hide it from the page so elements will shift as if the element you hid was gone from the page

document.getElementById('idofelement').style.visibility("hidden"); //hide element
document.getElementById('idofelement').style.visibility("visible"); //display element

css visibility will make the item invisible, but it will still hold it's place on the page

for example if you had 3 images, and you used css display property to hide the middle image, the third image would move to be next to the first image, as if there was no 2nd image there. If you used visibility to hide the middle image, then the middle image would disappear and it would look like there was an empty space the size of the middle picture between pictures 1 and 3
