Question : Is it possible to put a frequently used document in the system tray to open quickly?

I have an Excel document and a Word document that I open and use frequently.  Both Excel and Word (2007) each take a while to open, either due to the software itself or because of some shortcoming in my system.

Is it possible to have each of these documents reside in the system tray in order to be "at the ready" when needed?

Obviously, what I am really looking for is a way to open each of these documents open faster than they currently do, and the system tray idea is what I came up with.  There may be better solutions than this, and am open to suggestions, but if having them available in the system tray is a viable solution, I am hoping there is a way to do this.

on bootup you can open thwem by placing shortcuts to the files in the startup folder (Start > All Programs > Startup)

Alternatively, you could add them to the quick launch so they're right by the start button (right click taskbar, click properties, display quick launch)
