Question : More bandwidth and speed
Hi Experts,
We at Maryland use a T1 connecting to the clouds. Our remote site at Indiana has one and half T1. Each site has 20 users.
A critical manufacturing application (ERP) server is located at Maryland. The Indiana site needs to remote access it through terminal server connection on the T1. Each site also needs to access the other site's server for file access. The problem is the remote users need to compete with other browsing and downloading users for the limited T1 bandwidth. As the result, from time to time, the remote users in Indiana site complain about the access speed of Maryland server. We have upgraded servers to 64 bits so it is not server hardware issue.
We have been thinking if there is any way to improve the network speed:
1. Put one more T1 in Maryland site.
2. Install Frame Relay or something else
3. Your suggestion?
Can you give us your suggestion?
Answer : More bandwidth and speed
Yes, if you prioritise RDP traffic over all other traffic on your ASA devices it will dramatically reduce performance degradation when your link becomes congested since the RDP traffic will be transmitted before other traffic.
