Question : Server Rack and Rails: The Terms
Hi,
1) The Contractors build up the Servers
2) It is in the server Racks
3) There are Rails .....
4) They put the Rails firstly and then they slide the servers
5)My questions: When they are setting up the rails, i heard they mentioned "how many VIEWs?" (so both, the left and the right sides will be on the same LEVEL); i need to know the "right terms" used (by IT People) in daily basis? Is it right the wording is "VIEW" ? or other terms
6) Thanks
tjie
Answer : Server Rack and Rails: The Terms
I think maybe you heard "How many U's?" meaning rack units. Racks are spaced on a standardized unit. 1U is 1.75". If you look at your server specifications, it will usually list how tall it is - e.g. 1U server, 2U, 3U, etc.
