Question : Mac > Fusion

Hi Experts,

I have a  new Mac book and i have fusion installed on it.
How do i put a Windows XP Os on the Fusion ?
Is there such a thing like Workstation that you can copy a WinXP VM on to it or do you have to set the operating system up on Fusion from Scratch.

I appreciate you help on this

  • Install Converter on the host running the Windows XP VM
  • Navigate to Start -> All Programs -> VMware -> VMware Converter
  • Convert the VM using the wizard with destination as VMware Fusion and the appropriate version (either v1.0 or v2.0) and copy it to a USB Drive (most probably formatted with NTFS)

Once you have copied to the USB Drive, connect the drive to the Mac Book.

I believe there is an option to import VMs within Fusion.
