Question : VMware seperating a Nic card

Ok so know i am humbled witht he experience of installing VMWARE ESX :) - memories of me being 12 and working with DOS 2.0 jump back into my head.

I have built my fist VMWARE ESX 3.5 server and constructed 4 VM's! now what i want to do is separate the 2 nics to allocate the 1gb speed for one server, the 1m mb speed for the local AD and so on.

how do i do this?  looking at the VMware client, i cant see where i would do this. i have read somewhere that this is possible.

thanks!

Answer : VMware seperating a Nic card

in your vSwitch configuration properties, click the Network Adapters tab and assign your 2nd nic to the vSwitch.

Click back on the Ports tab, select your vSwitch then hit the Edit button

Click the NIC Teaming tab and configure your properties - I would recommend to start
Route based on the originating virtual port ID
   Link Status Only
   Yes
   Yes

Make sure both NICs show up under Active Adapters

Good Luck
