Question : MSIE8 doesn't open link in new tab

Something has happened to my setup in Windows 7 64bit to MSIE v8. When I right click a link and choose "open in new tab", or when I left-click a link that would normally open in a new tab, the new tab opens, but MSIE8 does not display the page. Instead it just says "connecting..."  A new Microsoft update was installed automatically last night (KB2272691 and KB982110) and I uninstalled both, but with the same results.

What can I do?

Do you have any third party toolbars installed, such as Google Toolbar?  If so disable or uninstall.
I would still recommend a System Restore.  It may be just coincidental that the problem started with the install of the Update.  It could be something else. Go to a date a day or two before the Updates.
