Question : "Wordpress is in use" Error - when replacing/re-install XAMPP?

Hi All,
We have lost the user name and root password for our local mysql server.
We are going to reinstall XAMPP but when we try to install the files we get the following error:
"The operation cannot be continued because the item Wordpress is in use"

I assume this mean Wordpress is installed on the local server somewhere. If so do i have to delete it and how can i find it?

Any suggestion?

Shutdown Xampp service and then try to reinstall it.
