Question : VMWare ESXI Storage Adapter path dead

Hello

We have an HP DL360 G6 with an LSI SCSI adapter card for connecting our tape device. We have installed VMWare ESXI 4.1 (the latest version). We are unable to use the tape device. When I look on the host under configuration --> storage adapter --> path, the link is dead.

Are you sure your tape device is still supported in ESXi 4.1 ?

Also, several people have reported that tape devices do not connect properly with 4.1, you can try downgrading to 4.0, there's a big chance it will connect again.
