Question : Migrate from Novell GroupWise

If my organization uses Novell GroupWise and we want to move to Exchange 2007, is there a Transporter Suite for GroupWise?

Answer : Migrate from Novell GroupWise

Unfortunately, Microsoft did not release a suite of tools for GroupWise migration to 2007. However, you can consider tools provided with Exchange 2003. They include the following:
  • Connector for Novell GroupWise— Provides the capability to route mail to the GroupWise system and for Exchange to understand the GroupWise address space. After configuration, it also enables the two directories to be synchronized to ensure that there is a consistent address book across both systems.

  • Calendar Connector— Enables users from both systems to see each others’ scheduling information.

  • Migration Wizard— Includes an option to migrate from Novell GroupWise.

To use these tools, you need to install an Exchange 2003 server first because you cannot install an Exchange 2003 server into a pure Exchange 2007 organization. Install the 2003 server, use the tools to move over everything you need, and then you can move those items over to your Exchange 2007 server.
