Question : vSphere - Hard Disk Size will not go above 256G

I am having an issue with my server drives not being able to go above 256G. I can see that this appears to be a block size thing within ESX however i cannot find a clear answer as to IF it can be changed without re-installing the whole server. If someone knows the answer to this that would be perfect.

Answer : vSphere - Hard Disk Size will not go above 256G

Cannot go beyond 256 gb on a datastore which was created using the block size 1. See the following link for clarification.

There is no way you can increase the block size without destroying the datastore. Just move all the files to another datastore using svMotion and reconfigure the datastore with what ever block size u feel is appropriate for furture use.
