Question : Engine question
Hello,
I was replacing the gaskets on my holley carb and I used the gasket with the 4 holes between the throttle body and intake manifold. (attached pic) I used this gasket instead of the open square gasket because that was what was previously on there and the open gasket did not seem to cover the pcv passages on the bottom of the throttle body. (not sure if it mattered or not)
I took it out for 1 drive and when I took the carb off to make further adjustments, I saw the center piece of the gasket had ripped off at some point and sucked in.
Will this damage the motor? I am worried about it getting clogged in the valves. Is this even possible? The motor is a chevy 427.
Thanks!
