Question : worst thing to happen if wireless does not have pw?

what is possible and not possible with a compromised network (no password) and that anyone is able to access (example : public libraries, even some home etc)

The problems with an open access point are that the data sent to and from it goes in the air without any sort of encryption. Therefore anyone can gain access to it with the right equipment.

Additionally when you are connected to an access point that anyone connects to there is now a way into your system that people can take advantage of to gain access to your files.
