Question : Languages in Blackberry firmware

Hi

So I have a Bold 9700 user on a carrier. He wants to be able to have the option to type in Japanese.

I checked out the carrier website and there are the following options:

Multilanguage
All languages - East Asia languages included
East Asia

I am confused, lol.

Which one should I download onto his device? Am I correct in thinking that:

i) "EastAsia" means East Asian fonts only?

ii) "Multilanguage" is western languages only?

iii) What I want is "All languages - East Asia languages included" to provide the ability to choose between English and Japanese?

Or am I getting this all wrong ;)

Answer : Languages in Blackberry firmware

No, by deleting the vendor.xml file you effectively 'de-region' the update and as long as you currently have the english files on the device, it will not remove or overwrite them, just add the extra language packs, and do an update if necessary. Just follow the instructions as above and you will be able to use both English and Japanese on the device
