Question : Mirrored volume not showing available space

I have an old Dell Poweredge 2500 where the OS runs off of a mirrored virtual volume (basic disk).  The first disk is 8.5 GB and the second is 15 GB.  The volume shows 4 GB, but does not show the 4 plus GB available.  I need to desperately expand this volume.  The OS is Windows 2000 server and cannot be upgraded or moved (long story).  I was contemplating breaking the mirror and re-creating it to see if the space shows up then.  Does anyone have any thought on this?

Thank You,

Steve

Answer : Mirrored volume not showing available space

If the original RAID array was created at 4GB, then the additional space on the drives will not be visible to Windows until it is configured on the controller.  Do you have OpenManage Server Administrator or Array Manager installed that you can confirm the RAID array is actually larger than 4GB?  You can also do this in the RAID controller BIOS utility ... could be CTRL-A or CTRL-M during POST.
