Question : Canon T1i and off camera wireless flash

I have the T1i, and I have only recently gotten a flash for it (430). I have a flash bracket to mount the flash off the camera, however, I'm not even certain the T1i is capable to do wireless control.

Do I need a cord? (canon OC-E3) I know it's more reliable than a wireless, but I'm just curious as to if I can even consider wireless.

I'm sure my manual tells me, but since I've just moved I haven't found the box it's in and haven't found any clues by googling

Thanks!

Answer : Canon T1i and off camera wireless flash

-miss-,

Short answer: No.

The Canon T1i does not offer a wireless flash command mode, that can communicate with an off-camera flash. To get that, you need a Canon accessory, which runs around $250, but is mostly showing as backordered by most camera stores. You can also do a corded flash, and there some different Canon and off-brand options for that.
