Question : What are the disadvantages between accessing a network share through my network places and through a mapped drive?

Server: Windows Server 2003 x64 Enterprise Edition
Client: Windows XP SP2 Pro

What are the disadvantages between accessing a network share through my network places and through drive mapping? We have been having problems accessing network shares through my network places and was wondering why it always delays for about 10secs or more before it opens.

Other times if the network share is not accessed on time, say 1hr or more after first logon, it will request for the users credentials and the user must then type his email address as username and password before he can have access to the network share.

Hi,

follow those steps below

1) right click on the folder "WebSite" and click on the Property.
2) then click on the security tab and click on the add button
3) Type "aspnet" and click enter
4) you can see "ASP.NET Machine Account"
5) give it full access and click ok.

If till not working then change something in IIS
check ASP.net Vertion
Also set "Application Protection" to "Low (IIS Process)

Thanks
