Question : DPM Agent Installer failed with errorcode -0x80004005

Hello Experts,

I am having issues installing the remote agent for DPM 2010 on a Svr 2008 R2 64 bit domain controller.
When running the manual install command DPMAgentinstaller_x64.exe <DPM Server name> i receive the following error "DPMAgentInstaller failed with error code =0x80004005, error says: Unspecified error".

All known DPM ports have been enabled on firewalls and I have also attempted this install with the firewall turned off completely and i get the same result.

I can successfully complete the agent install without specifying the DPM server, but when i try to use the SetDPMServer command, this fails with 0x8004005 unspecified error.

I have successfully installed other agents with this command and via push installation.

I can ping & browse to the DPM server from the failing client, and visa versa.

OK, turns out its down to server hardening

net stop mssvc and run the install works
