Question : Get unique Months and Year from time stamp using MySQL

Hi,
I have a list of articles which are sporadically entered into the database 'news' table. When entered the unix epoch date is entered into newsdate field.
I am creating a list of years and months and need to retrieve a list of unique months and years from all of the timestamps in the database.

Can anyone provide a snippet of code that perhaps could do it please? I am rather urgent, so will give 500 points.

ok, I think you have a pure C++ project which doesn't use MFC - since CString is a MFC class these errors occur.
