Question : Installing all software without internet connection on fresh Windows 7 install

Hi All,

We are setting up a fresh Windows 7 machine that hosts a few custom databases and acts as a file server.  Unfortunately, the office internet is down for the time being (posting this from another location).  Anyone know an MS link to obtain critical updates for Windows 7 via download that could be put on a thumb drive (since there are no service packs out yet to download)?

Worst case scenario, all we can do is setup the machine and all software from discs (A/V, Office, Databases, etc) and then updating the A/V and Windows later on down the line.

Answer : Installing all software without internet connection on fresh Windows 7 install

No way you can install updates by downloads for only 2 resons

1st Microsoft must Validiate you windows copy before installing updates ( youe windows must be activated )

2nd this updates are avilieble only on microsoft servers you can't connect to it directly
you connect to updates servers by 2 ways ( windows itself - WSUS server )

so install windows and software then update it later
some antivirus by the way can be updated offline like Eset there is offline updater for them
