Question : What hardware specs would I need for a SharePoint Server 3.0 server?

Hi, I am preparing to purchase a new server for our SharePoint Services 3.0.  

I was wondering what hardware is your SharePoint Services 3.0 system supporting?

Not sure about either 32-bit or 64-bit, yet.  What is your take on this?

Also, is it possible to offload the database to SQL 2005 on another server.

you're looking for the hardware requirements for a WEB FRONT END SERVER.

as for server requirements for the server hosting SQL, it's really more of a SQL question than a sharepoint question ;)
