Question : Windows Server 2008 backup utility

Using Windwos Server 2008 backup utility I performed a one time backup using an external USB disk. the utility dedicated the disk and hid it from windows.  I now need to re-deploy the disk. How do I configure the disk so that it not dedicated and shows up in windows explorer?
