Question : LCD Monitor weird behavior

Ok,
I have a faulty Dell LCD 17" Monitor
When the monitor goes off, due to the power settings, and then I hit the mouse or the keyboard the monitor tries to come on, but then it goes off, the the only thing tha will bring it back is to disconnect it from the power outlet and the video card from the PC and connect it back again.
I've check the cables, plut the monitor into another PC and still the same behavior.
I've also changed the power settings and still no change.

The work arround I found is to set it to Always On, no turning the monitor Off I mean "Never"
and it seems to kind of help so far.

The monitor is already out of warranty so.
Now I'm intrested what could be the issue. on the monitor and if it can be fixed.....??

Answer : LCD Monitor weird behavior

It sounds more like a power management issue on the computer than on the monitor. If you have another computer, try swapping monitors:

If the issue persists on this monitor while connected to a different computer, the issue is with the monitor. There are not usually reset buttons on the monitor and unless you feel comfortable playing around inside the monitor hardware you'll not be able to repair it. And for a 17" monitor, the repairs will probably cost as much as a new screen.

If the issue then occurs on the monitor now connected to the same machine, it's a machine issue. Check that the video card drivers are updated.
