Question : Capturing the Environmental Variable using javascript, vbscript or JSP java?

Hi everyone,

I am writing a small web application based on a java applet technology called Thinkmap. (This will be viewed by Windows specific audience)

I need to extract the end user's Environmental Variables (USERNAME, USERDOMAIN) using either a client side script (javascript, vbscript) or JSP java.

The Information does not need to be relayed back to the server as it will be passed as a parameter into the applet.

Any suggestions on a function I could try or some source code?
