Question : Issue transferring FSMO roles to a BDC, main DC is down
The main DC is down and I attempted to seize the FSMO roles using ntdsutil. However after doing that when I click on active directory users and computers, I have a warning window from Active Directory Domain Services with the following message. The domain XXXX.com could not be found because: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
Any ideas how resolve this issue
Thank you in advance for your help
Answer : Issue transferring FSMO roles to a BDC, main DC is down
Only if the settings within the GPO differ.
For example, the parent GPO disables the screensaver and the child OU enables the screensaver, the child OU would win.
